COVID 19 INFO JUNE 2020

Our clinics are now open and offering face to face appointments for some patients.

Face to face appointments will be risk assessed and all patients will be screened prior to their session.  Measures have been put in place to keep our patients and staff safe.  We will aim to follow the governments advice on 2 metre distancing, however as physiotherapy is partly hands on, it will not be possible though out the whole of your session.  Where the 2 meter distancing is not possible, measures have been put in place to minimise unnecessary risk.

Virtual sessions will still go ahead for those patients unable to come to the clinic.  The Charted Society of Physiotherapy recommend a virtual first approach, which may be in the form of video calls or telephone triage.

During the lock-down period, video calls have proved highly successful.  The physios are able to take a full subjective assessment and watch you carry out certain movements, activities and tasks, along with perform some special tests.  This allows the physio to form a clinical diagnosis for a number of conditions.  They are then able to effectively formulate an exercise program, helping you on the road to recovery.

We will discuss which session would be appropriate for you.

Measures we have taken to maintain a safe working environment include:

  • Patients must arrive at their allotted time and not before.  We are trying to limit the time patients are in the clinic and minimise the amount of people in at any one time.

  • Surfaces, equipment and all hot spots will be cleaned with a chlorine- based disinfectant between patients.

  • Patients are screened prior to their appointment and on arrival to the clinic.  This includes Infra Red temperature measurements being taken on arrival.

  • Patients are to wear their own face covering to the clinic and the therapist will wear a medical facemask. Aprons, gloves and face shields will be worn with all close contact and face to face treatments.

  • Patients will sanitise hands on arrival and therapist will wash and sanitise hands before, during and after each patient contact.

  • Touchline Physio will be keeping records of all patients entering the clinic, to enable tracing.  Should any of our patients or staff become unwell, we will inform you immediately.

We ask all of our patients to stay home if they have a persistent new cough or fever, loss of taste or smell, or if they have been in contact with infected people.

We have missed you all and look forward to seeing you again
