Why are my joint make strange noises?
Many people complain of their joints making noises such as, popping, cracking, clunking, snapping, grating, and grinding. These noises may cause you concern and you may feel worried about what is causing it. You may try to avoid it by changing the way you move. Many people inform us that they have stopped the activity that causes the noises, such as climbing the stairs, gardening, or swimming. They have ideas of severe arthritis or that something is wrong.
Such noises are known as Crepitus and not all these noises are as bad as they sound. There are many different causes and reasons for crepitus, some of which will require treatment, and some won't.
So, what causes the crepitus?
The most common cause is gas bubbles that pop within the joint. The gas bubbles may appear when a joint is stretched and released.
